PRPA Annual Outing

Registration is now open for the 2024 PRPA Annual Outing to beautiful Waskesiu Lake in Northern Saskatchewan.

Download the Registration form, Showmanship Entry form and Waiver to complete, print, scan and send in. Printed copies of the newsletter have the forms attached to the back page.

The preliminary itinerary will be as follows:

Friday, June 7, 2024:

4:00 to 5:30 p.m. - registrant check in at the Hawood Inn in the Kingsmere Room

7:00 p.m. - Annual General Meeting with coffee and snacks provided

8:15 p.m. - Presentation by Bob Ferguson “A Park for all Seasons” where Bob will provide us with photography tips and locations for photographic opportunities around the town of Waskesiu and surrounding park area as well as treat us to a presentation of his beautiful photographs captured of the area and local wildlife.

Saturday, June 8, 2024:

Early risers may wish to form a group or two to bring in the day with a Northern sunrise shoot.

7:00 a.m. - Rise and Shine Breakfast in the Kingsmere Room

8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. - Registrants are free to acquaint themselves with and photograph the area until the awards banquet at lunch time.

12:00 p.m. noon - Awards Banquet Lunch in the Kingsmere Room

3:00 p.m. - Registrants will be provided with their bagged evening meal, provided with a map of the area and are then free to explore the Town of Waskesiu and surrounding National Park area.

NOTE: There will be a designated area decided upon for those who wish to meet up around 5:00 p.m. to share their bagged meal picnic style before continuing on exploring. For the rest of the evening, registrants are free to continue exploring, enjoying the golden hour, a beautiful sunset over the lake and, for those night owls, some astrophotography of stars, Milky Way and possible Aurora.

Please note that groups may be organized for certain photographic opportunities such as sunrises, sunsets, astrophotography or jaunts to certain locations within the Park.

Sunday, June 9, 2024:

Again - early risers may wish to form a group or two to bring in the day with a Northern sunrise shoot.

7:00 a.m. - Continental Breakfast

9:00 a.m. - PRPA Board Meeting

The 2024 Outing winds down but Registrants are free again to explore until hotel checkout is required.
